While most static site compilers are available in PHP, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Perl, none have been available in Google's Go programming language that has been taking the development World by storm.
Hugo is such a tool, a complex system that takes locally stored content, uses a preset templates, and merges them together into HTML files ready to be served to users via a Web server.
With support for all Go operating systems and platforms, Hugo will allow developers to easily put a static website together and update it whenever they need via the Go CLI.
Hugo is easy to customize and can be used to build simplistic websites in the form of blogs, portfolios, documentation sites, landing pages, product presentations, and much many more.
The sites produced with Hugo are all SEO friendly, standards compliant, and can be easily be deployed to services like Amazon S3, GitHub Pages, Dropbox, Digital Ocean, (mt), GoDaddy, or normal shared hosting environments.
