When you say "text carousel" most developers tend to think of "news tickers" by default. Morphext is not such a widget, not scrolling text sideways like a news headline, but animating it with various other effects, right in the place it stands.
What Morphext basically does is to hide the previous text and replace it with a new one. For this Animate.css is used, and support is also included for prefixes and suffixes, helping developers create cool-looking text blocks or paragraphs that constantly change specific words.
This can be a great tool for displaying catch phrases, mission statements, tag lines, and so on.
A demo is included with the basic Morphext package.
While Morphtext rotates small pieces of text, there's also the Morphist jQuery plugin from the same author that rotates a list's items in the same way.
