Micropress allows users to setup a basic blog that doesn't need a huge and complicated core to render out a few articles in a timeline-based layout.
This lightweight script works from the Python CLI and allows developers to setup a simple blog engine that delivers its pages from a local file & folder structure.
Micropress takes the site's content from the "/pages" and "/posts" folders, content formatted and stored inside .markdown files.
This content is rendered inside a basic HTML page using Jinja2-powered templates, and saved locally ready to be delivered to any users accessing the site.
Because all the site's content is in a simple HTML, CSS, and JS form, the website overall is incredibly fast to load and doesn't require any runtime compilation being ready available when each users connects.
The post and page's creation and change date are automatically added to each page, and an Atom syndication feed is available for site visitors to track your future articles.
Any changes made to the content are automatically compiled to the site in real-time, and support for special pages for listing the blog's archive, tag-based posts, categories, and the sitemap are included.
