News Ticker displays news headlines from RSS feeds.

Click on a headline to open the corresponding article in your web browser.
Control-click (or right-click) a headline to open the contextual menu:

New articles are marked with , old articles (see Query Preferences) are preceded by a
while the unmarked items are already read.
News Ticker remembers those headlines and won't show them again. It also keeps a list of outdated news so that you will be presented with up to date headlines only when you start Universal Ticker the next time.

News Ticker Channel Preferences
Channels
Clicking on + will add a new unnamed channel and open the channel info dialog. Just put the URL of the channel's RSS feed in the edit field and click OK. News Ticker will contact the site immediately and update the channel's name and description.
You may also add a new channel by dragging a link to the channel list.
To view info on a channel or change a feed's URL, select the channel and click edit.

News Ticker Query Preferences
Query Interval
The first slider determines the interval in which channels are queried for fresh news items.
Use the second slider to change the time interval after which a news items should be removed from the ticker.

News Ticker Display Preferences
Display
Change the minimum time between the display of two news items here.
The following settings affect the appearance of a news item. You can see a preview inside the box at the bottom.
