Thoughts Help
File Types

Thoughts supports saving books in its own file format. The Thoughts file format has the suffix ".thoughts".

filetypes
Thoughts supports the following file types to export single pages:

• RTF (Rich Text Format), supports web links and formating. Internal links to other pages will be lost. Can be opened by most Text Editors like TextEdit, Apple Pages and Microsoft Word. If the page contains images, the RTFD format will be used instead automatically, which can be opened by TextEdit and other Macintosh applications.

• PDF (Portable Document Format), supports all formating styles and inline elements (such as images). Internal links to other pages will be lost. Can be viewed by any PDF Viewer like Apple Preview, Adobe Reader, or any web browser with a PDF plugin like Safari.

• DOC (Microsoft Word 97 File Format), supports all formatting styles and inline elements (such as images). Internal links to other pages will be lost. Can be opened and edited by Microsoft Word 97 or newer, Apple Pages, Open Office.org and other document processors.

• DOCX (Microsoft Word 2007 File Format, OOXML), supports all formating styles and inline elements (such as images). Internal links to other pages will be lost. Can be opened and edited by Microsoft Word 2007 or newer and Apple Pages.

• ODT (Open Document Text), supports all formating styles and inline elements (such as images). Internal links to other pages will be lost. This is the standard of document formats and thus can be opened and edited by most word processors, like OpenOffice, KOffice, Microsoft Word 2007 SP2, Apple Pages and TextEdit.
