Importing a Text file

StageTitles can import a plain text file in two ways: Automatically using the settings in Preferences > Import & Export or in a visual way with the Import window.

In the Import window you define a slide separator and line separator in the source text file on the left. On the right, you can see a live update of how the slides will be imported.

You can also edit the source text. These changes will not be saved in the source text file, but will only be used for the import.

In the footer of the two boxes, you can see the number of lines in the source file and the number of slides once the Import will be done.

Buttons at the bottom of the Import window:

• Set Line Separator

Select a text portion or an empty line and click this button to set the line separator.
This step can be repeated: make a new selection and re-click this button. Watch the changes in the right box.

• Set Slide Separator

Select a text portion or an empty line and click this button to set the slide separator. Be sure to set something different for line and slide separators.
This step can be repeated: make a new selection and re-click this button. Watch the changes in the right box.

• Cancel

The Import window is closed and no import will be done. Any change you have made in the source text will be lost.

• Copy to Prefs

Clicking this button will save the set separators to the Preferences > Import & Export.

• Continue Import

Start the actual Import process. When importing is done, a dialog box opens to set a name for the new document and save it to disk.
