To a quick install, first copy your favorite example's APPLET tag out of this html file completely in your webpage where you want the applet to display, then edit the QuothFile of that example to contain your messages and finally upload the edited QuothFile text file, your webpage and the QuothBar.class file on your webserver. More information about installing an applet at our installing help pages.
The QuothFile parameter of the applet specifies which file to retrieve the messages from. Each line in that file is a message. If a message should be a link, the next line should start with "#" and the URL of the link. For example: #http://www.realapplets.com . Take a look at the example QuothFiles, such as QuothFileMain.txt .
You can change the applet's appearance (such as size, colors, ...) with it's parameters. The HTML source of the first example contains comments explaining each parameter.
It is possible to convert the normal APPLET tag configuration to a HTML configuration which will do an automatic download of Sun's latest Java plug-in. This is done at the plug-in page.
