This is a kick-start guide, to help you get going with HDRtist Pro.
- Open HDRtist Pro, and you'll be presented with the "Welcome Window".
- Click on the "Create a new HDR" button in the top left hand corner (as highlighted by the above screenshot). This will create
a brand new blank HDR.
- You can either use the "Add" toolbar button to add the images into the window or you can also drag files in from the "Finder"
, "iPhoto", "Aperture" and other photo organizers. Lastly you can copy and paste files and images into your new HDR. Once you've
added some images your window should look a little like below.
- If your images aren't quite aligned, click on the "Align Images" toolbar button to align them, it can take a while or a few seconds.
- Alrighty, now lets work some magic. In the inspector, click on some "1-Click Styles" that you like the look of and watch as your HDR
will update in real time. If you can't see any 1-Click Styles, click on the "1-Click Styles" button (
) on the Inspector.
- Once you've had enough fun with the 1-Click Styles, let's get to work with the "Adjustments". Click the "Adjustments" button
at the top of the "Inspector" this will reveal lots of sliders where you can either fine tune a 1-Click Style or just mess around.
- For this quick-start, click on the "Defaults" button in the bottom left hand corner of the "Inspector" this will reset all
the settings to the default. Then start adjusting the sliders and see how they affect your HDR.
- When you're satisfied with your HDR, save it. Click on the "Save" toolbar button and select "Save to iPhoto"
(or "Save to Aperture") or from the "File" menu on the menubar.
- Give it a few moments and now your HDR has been saved into iPhoto/Aperture where you can treat it just like a regular photo. If you open that
image back into HDRtist Pro at a later date, it'll attempt to restore your HDR session for you (allowing you to change the HDR).
- The safest way to save your HDR is to use the "Save" option from the "Save" toolbar button or "File" menu. In the save dialog, save your HDR using the "HDRtist Pro document" format and HDRtist Pro'll bundle everything together for you.
