How to Chill a Glass

Chilling your serving glasses is a great way to keep a drink cold without watering down 
the drink with extra ice. There are two common ways to "Chill a Glass."

1. Place the glasses in the refridgerator or freezer for at least an hour before you use them. 

2. Before mixing your drink, fill your serving glass with ice and water.  
   Let it sit while you mix your drink in another glass. Pour out the water and ice 
   from your serving glass, then serve as usual. 

How to Frost a Glass

A frosted glass is similar to a chilled glass and is a great way to keep a drink cold 
without watering down the drink. It also adds to the presentation of a drink. 

Place a wet glass into the freezer or bury it in ice until the water on the glass freezes.
A thin layer of ice will form on the glass. When getting the glasses out of the freezer, 
pick them up from the bottom or from their handles to avoid melting the ice on the glass.

How to Rim a Glass (frosting)

Rimming a glass with sugar or salt is a great way to enhance the flavor of a drink, and
also adds a nice touch of presentation. 

Spread a light covering of salt or sugar on a plate.  Moisten the edge of a glass with 
water, lemon, or lime, turn the glass over and place the rim the salt or sugar. Slowly 
twist the glass back and forth to adhere the salt or sugar to the rim.

How to Float

Layering is a awesome way to present a drink. With a little practice, layering is very 
easy. Overtime you will learn how to slide the layers of  alcohol down the side of the 
glass, but until then use the back of a spoon.  Start with the most dense alcohol and 
work your way to the lightest. Pour the bottom layer into the glass, then turn a spoon 
upside down, touching the tip to the side of the glass. Pour your second layer of alcohol 
onto the back of the spoon. Repeat with each layer.  

How to Flame

Warning:  Playing with fire is dangerous. Please look around you be sure nothing will 
ignite. Remember that flames can also shoot high into the air. Have a fire extinguisher 
near by in the case if an accident.  Use pot holders when handling the hot glass, spoon 
or pan.

Okay you've been warned.  The trick to flaming is to warm your glass and your alcohol.  
First you'll want to warm your glass. Hold the glass above your stoves heating element or 
flame until the glass is warm. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS DIRECTLY TO THE HEATING COIL OR FLAME.  
Please use potholders to hold the glass by the steam. 

Pour a small amount of the alcohol into a pan on the stove top. While the alcohol is warming. 
Pour the rest of the drink into the warmed glass. When the alcohol in the pan is hot, light it 
with a match and then pour the flaming alcohol into the warmed glass.

Citrus Twist

Cut a thin round slice of your chosen Citrus. Using your knife make a cut in the slice of 
citrus from the center out to one edge.  Pick up the slice and twist the two corners of the 
cut away from each other.
